1.6.0 is a new milestone for Voilà. From the interface you see to the code quality you don’t, this release revisits everything from the ground up.

The settings window has been completely redesigned. It now uses a sidebar layout, and every page has been refined; there are new light and dark appearances, every setting saves automatically as soon as you change it, and the "About" page now looks like a license certificate. The onboarding screens you see at first launch have been refreshed to match.

A Mid-Autumn Festival gift: AI polish is now available to free users. You can let AI polish tidy up your dictated text without activating Voilà, and it now handles mid-sentence corrections more reliably in Chinese, English and French.

More reliable. For this release, Claude Opus 5.5 reviewed the hand-written code and ran all kinds of real-world tests (long mixed Chinese, English and French sentences, rapid back-to-back recordings, pausing before speaking), fixing a number of small issues with recording, connections and text insertion: pausing to think before you speak no longer cuts you off, and audio capture starts the moment you press the hotkey.
